Our Current Vacancies:
Each advert contains details of closure dates, shortlisting/interview time-frames, and instructions on how & where to return your completed application form to.
It is important that you complete the correct application form (see below). We will discard applications submitted on an incorrect application form or those intended for other Schools/organisations, or application forms that are incomplete or incorrect and without two references.
Safer Recruitment:
All positions are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974: if you have been convicted of a criminal offence, including whilst outside of the UK, you must supply details (offence, date and sentence) along with your application. In keeping with safer recruitment processes, we may carry out an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of our due diligence. This may help identify any incidents or issues that have happened, that are publicly available online, which we might want to explore with you. If you have lived or worked outside of the UK for a period of 12 months or more within the last 10 years, where applicable, you will be required to submit a certificate of good conduct from the relevant countries along with your application. In the event of a successful application, further safeguarding checks will be conducted, including an enhanced DBS disclosure and further Disqualification/’Disqualification by Association’ declaration checks. Any job offer made is always conditional, subject to the satisfactory completion of the above safeguarding measures, timely positive reference returns and passing a probationary period. Please note that this Academy Trust does not accept CVs under any circumstances. All candidates are required to complete and return a Safer Recruitment Form (see below) with their job application form.

We wish you the best of luck with your application.
Being Successful in your Application:
When applying for any job vacancy, we offer the following general advice to help you succeed:
- We strongly advise you to make an appointment to visit our School before applying. Visiting beforehand suggests that you have a genuine interest in our School and that you have taken the time to tailor your application form to reflect our setting. It will give you a deeper insight into how we work, which you would draw upon at interview, should you be shortlisted. Not all Schools are the same: come and see us before you decide to apply. We recommend that doing so will give you greater self-confidence.
- Make sure that you have used the correct application form (we don’t accept LBBD application forms).
- Check your application form is completed correctly; check for spelling mistakes, typos, grammatical errors and correct punctuation.
- Check that there are no gaps or omissions in your application. You should account for all periods of employment or study since leaving School within the “Previous Employment” section. Include periods of non-employment with dates (for example, state if studying, travelling or bringing up a family and ensure that the dates match up), so that there are no obvious gaps.
- Check that you have supplied full contact details of your chosen referees. Do not leave blanks!
- In your “Personal Statement”, explain why you want the job and how, considering the job description and person specification, you best fit the position. This is where you sell yourself! Recruitment is a competitive process and we shortlist based on what is written in your application form.
- Make sure your contact details are correct and during the short-listing period, you keep an eye on your phone and that – at the very least – you have voicemail activated (check for messages).
- Complete and return the Safer Recruitment Form to the email address provided. (Remember, if you have been convicted of a criminal offence, you must supply details (offence, date and sentence) within the application form and your cover letter).
- Ensure you have looked at the salary which is provided on each advert (you’d be surprised at how many people overlook this). Be sure you know how much you’ll earn, as unlike within the private sector, we do not negotiate salaries.
- Check whether the post is advertised as a fixed-term or a permanent contract. Remember, we do not negotiate contracts at the point of interview. Permanent contracts are rare to find these days and we often advise candidates that a good route to a permanent contract can be through the successful completion of the probation period, settling-in to your new job, establishing yourself in your role and then applying for a permanent contract, when one arises. TVI Learning is a responsible employer: we do look for employees that we can grow across the long-term; and we always try to have an open and honest conversation with employees about the availability of potential permanent contracts, long before fixed-term contracts are due to expire. However, we are unable to make promises or guarantees in advance as circumstances and budgetary priorities can change over time.
- We tell candidates at the point of interview of the time-frame for being informed about whether or not they are successful in their application. (Usually by the end of the next working day).
- Make sure you want the job and are a firm candidate! Should you be shortlisted, we will ask you at the beginning of the interview to confirm whether you would accept the post should you be successful in your application. No employer wants to appoint a candidate, only to find that they have been “gazumped” at the point of job offer by an over-committed candidate. It wastes a lot of time and inconveniences other candidates too. If the job really isn’t for you, please withdraw your application or notify us immediately before or after your interview.
- If you do have any questions about the post, it’s a good idea to call us ahead of applying or being shortlisted.

Being a Volunteer at Thames View Infants
We welcome volunteers at School. It can be very rewarding. It can really help those undertaking a student-placement or seeking experience as part of an education-based career-pathway. You might be a Parent/Carer who has extra time on their hands and wishes to support their local School. From time to time, we will recruit volunteers. You might be supporting in classes or assisting in the Office. Full training will be given, including Safeguarding Training. Being confident when speaking, reading and writing in English is important. All volunteers in School undertaking regulated activities are subject to the Safer Recruitment Checks detailed above. To be considered as a volunteer you will first have to complete & return both of the below application forms, ahead of your interview, as part of this process. Please contact our School Office for more information.
