Thames View Infants is a vibrant multi-cultural Infant Academy, located within the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham. The school is situated on Bastable Avenue, located in a central position on Thames View Estate. The Estate is bordered by the A13 (to the North), the River Thames (to the South), Renwick Road (to the East) and River Road (to the West).
The School may be reached by EL1 and EL2 from Barking Station. Barking Station is served by National Rail (C2C), London Overground (Suffragette Line) and London Underground (District and Hammersmith & City Lines).
(Please note there is no entry into Bastable Avenue from Choats Road on Monday to Friday mornings between 6am-10am).
Parents and visitors are very welcome at Thames View Infants; however, to ensure children’s safety the site is locked during core school hours.
The entrance to the School is located on Bastable Avenue, adjacent to the Sue Bramley Children’s Centre. The school has limited car parking facilities. Bastable Avenue is part of a residents’ parking zone (CPZ) and we advise visitors arriving by car to call in advance for advice regarding parking arrangements.
The School has 3 entrances on Bastable Avenue, which includes the main pedestrian gate and the vehicles-only car park gate. Upon arrival, please press the buzzer; you will then be greeted by our Office Staff and asked to identify yourself. We apologise if sometimes you have to wait but we will make every effort to answer quickly. It is important that we know who is on the premises at all times and that we follow safeguarding procedures.
You can call School at any time. The Office is normally staffed between 8:00-4:00, but outside of these times (or if the office team are away from their desks), you will be able to leave a message. Should this be the case, we will get back to you as soon as possible. Our friendly office staff will do their best to answer your query and direct you to someone who can help more. If you need to speak to the Headteacher, and he is unavailable, Kelly Ager (his PA), Rosa Corcoran-Jones (Deputy Head), Adam Dobson (Deputy Head) or another Senior Member of staff will try to help you in his absence.
