Please try to ensure that your child is on time. Each class begins the day with a literacy or numeracy activity and your child will be missing important teaching if they are late.

Aim to arrive at school about 5 minutes before school begins, as you won’t want to be waiting around too long, especially on cold wet days. We offer a Breakfast Club for the children of working Parents or those in full-time study.
Teachers will come out in the playground to meet the children each morning. Please wait in the playground with your child. If the weather is really wet, we will try to let the children in early. Please be patient whilst we organise this, as we have to ensure that we have sufficient numbers of staff available to provide cover.
If you are late, please do not keep your child at home for the day; we would rather a child came late than not at all. When you arrive at school you will need to report to the Office, to ensure your child’s attendance is registered.
If your child is absent from school please ensure that we know why. This can be done by calling or by seeing our Office Staff in person.
At the end of the day, please arrive on time. If you are unable to collect your child personally we will need to know, in advance, the name of the person who will be taking them home. Please do not take offence if staff check the identity of a person collecting your child: it is necessary for us to be vigilant in the interest of your child’s safety.
IF IN AN EMERGENCY, YOU ARE LATE AT THE END OF THE DAY, PLEASE TELEPHONE THE SCHOOL SO THAT WE CAN REASSURE YOUR CHILD.
Lunchtime Arrangements
Our lunch break is split to allow more time for the Reception class children to eat and to ensure that they have time apart from the rest of the school. We are mindful that lunchtime can be bewildering for children and try to ensure that there is maximum support for them. We run a developmentally-supportive lunchtime club to nurture those children who are fussy or reluctant eaters, or food phobic.
We provide children with a healthy dinner for free. Specialist diets are easily catered for. If you are worried about your child’s eating, speak to the School’s Family Support Team, who will be happy to offer you support and guidance. (Children attending our 30 hours’ Nursery Provision will receive lunch at an additional cost).
Children have access to water, a daily fruit snack and milk at lunchtime. These are provided for free.
